Important information for the meet Saturday

 

·         BUSES MUST USE GATE #4 (see attached map) of the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds. Remember the fairgrounds is hosting 2 large events this day.

·         PARKING FEE IS $5 PER SPECTATOR VEHICLE.

·         YOU MAY PRE-PURCHASE PARKING AT THIS LINK

·                  2023 DMS Fall Classic Parking

·         All spectator parking may use –

·                     Pre-Paid Parking use Gate #4 – Jackson St-Just show your receipt to attendant.

·                     Pay at Meet - Gate #1 – US Hwy 51

·                     Coaches driving to the meet - inform attendant that you are a coach and you     will not have to pay parking fee.

·                     NO special parking area or drop off for athletes and/or coaches.

·         Buses will drop off at the road next to the camp area.  All buses are to pull forward on road and park as far south as possible. Buses will use gate #4 to enter the fairgrounds.  Buses may use gate #4 or gate #1 to exit the grounds.

·         There is ample fan parking along the lakes of the fairgrounds and southward toward the central area of the Fairgrounds.  We will have people directing you to parking areas. Handicap parking will be closer to the course – MUST BE DISPLAYING HANDICAP PARKING PLACARD.

·         UNAUTHORIZED vehicles will not be permitted in the central staging and camp area.

·         We will have a nurse on site

·         The Varsity course is 1.86 miles.  The course is hilly with a portion through a wooded area.  The course will be marked and gated. We will have marshals on the course for direction.  There are some areas that have some visible and raised tree roots.  We have marked these with a bright neon paint, make note of this during the course walk through.  We will also have a sweeper trailing the racers.    

·         Packet pick-up and course walk through begins at 8:00 am. 

·         We will have a concessions available

·         T-shirt pre-order link will be available soon.

·         PLEASE REMIND YOUR SPECTATIORS TO REMAIN OFF OF THE COURSE AND BEHIND ALL MARKED AREAS.

·         NO PETS ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON THE GROUNDS FOR THE MEET.

You may enter only ONE team per race. Please list ALL athletes who MAY run in their specific race. Changes to roster will NOT be made after close of registration.

Team Awards: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place plaques

Individual Awards: Medals for 1st – 25th each division

Entry Fees: $50 per team/per school (ex. varsity boys & varsity girls = $100). Open - $7 per entry (max 7 boys/max 7 girls. Ex. 14 total open runners = $98)

Please mail entry fees or bring day of race. Checks are payable to Du Quoin Middle School.

Race day packet and pre-ordered t-shirts (online order link will be provided at a later date) will be distributed morning of race in pavilion.

Please double check all bib numbers and names match for their specific race.
