Dear DES Families,
Starting next week, all students being escorted into the building will need to be dropped off at our Papoose in the commons. We work very hard to make sure our building is full of helpful faculty and staff who assist students on their way to class. This is a safety procedure to ensure everyone, especially our students, are safe. Also we want you to be reminded of our technology device policy. Cell phones are not allowed in any of the schools, including the elementary, because they often cause a disruption to instructional day. This includes Smart Watches and GPS tracking devices. We trust you will follow protocol and will respect us when we ask you to follow this procedure.
It is amazing to see all the learning that is already happening all around our school. I am so fortunate in my position to see and hear the new revelations, amazing discoveries and watch our students grow on a daily basis! Finally, we are excited to share that one of our students will be “ringing the bell” in celebration of finishing her cancer treatment. We are joining in the celebration and support with “Addi’s Day” on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Everyone is encouraged to wear pink to celebrate with Addi and we invite all our students and families to join. So remember to wear Pink for Addi on Tuesday!
