Attention DHS: It's Game Time @ DHS! Homecoming tickets are now on sale through Wednesday, September 25 at 3 p.m. Permission slips are available in the office. Every student must have a permission slip signed before he/she can purchase a ticket. Purchase your ticket in Mrs. Miller’s room for only $5. Don’t wait until the last minute to purchase a ticket. Those purchasing tickets on Wednesday must have a parent come into the office to sign the permission slip. We have a great DJ lined up for the evening; this will be a HOCO you do not want to miss!
Anyone interested in Student Senate needs to pick up a general membership application from Mr. McChristian.
Friends of Rachel Club will have a meeting today during ELT in the library.
French club will meet today right after school to make passports. No signup is needed.
There will be an Engineering Club Meeting on Wednesday at 7:15 a.m. in Mr. Jones' room.
There will be Chess matches in the library after school on Wednesday.
Art Club t-shirt sign-up is now available in the art room. Cost is $25 and money is due by October 10th.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes would like to invite all students, faculty, and staff to 2 events this Wednesday.
The first event will be our annual See You At the Pole event. We will gather at the flagpole in front of the school to pray for our school, community, state, and nation at approximately 7:40 am.
Later that evening, we will have our annual Homecoming Bonfire. This year, it will take place at Du Quoin First Baptist Church. The event will take place from 6:30-8:00. We will have Chili, guest speakers from SIU, and games.
Reminder: The FFA Blood drive is coming up on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. Please make sure if you want to give blood, sign up with an FFA member or sign up in the office or in your classrooms. If you are 16 years of age you will need to have your parents or legal guardian sign the waver that enables you to donate. You can pick those sheets up in the office as well. Nearly 21 million blood components are transfused each year in the U.S
Reminder Blood Drive: You will need a form of ID on the day of the blood drive to be able to donate. A Driver’s License, Foid Card, or Student Transcript will work.
Blood Donors that are 16 years of age. Just a friendly reminder, please don’t forget to have your parent/guardian complete a Blood Donor permission form. These permission forms can be picked up in the DHS office, and/or obtained from each teacher. You may turn your form in to the office prior to the blood drive or bring it with you at your appointed time on Wed. Sept. 25.
Blood Donors surpassing the age of 16. Just another friendly reminder. Those donors wishing to give blood are REQUIRED to provide a proper form of identification- Driver’s License and/or FOID cards work well. These cards have not only your picture, and your full name on them but more importantly you’re DATE OF BIRTH. DHS School I.D. cards will not work! DHS student forgetting their proper identification may however request a copy of their high school transcript from our office staff. Your transcript has your date of birth on it.
Thank you to those who came to decorate on Saturday and for the mighty few who attended Game Night! There was a good time had by those in attendance. We hope to revisit the games sometime in the future, so listen to announcements for your chance to be in on the festivities!

FBLA Members: T-shirt designs are due by the end of the school day today. Don't forget that the first BAA sessions will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, September 25, at 7:15 a.m., and after school in Mrs. Gross' room.
Pep Club and Student Body t-shirt orders have been extended until today at 10:00 am. If you forgot your forms or money today, bring them in first thing tomorrow morning and give them to Mrs. Miller. If you need a form, there are some in the office and Mrs. Miller has a few in her classroom.
There will be a representative from Eastbay here on Monday, September 30th to have girls try on team shoes in Anders Gym at 3:00. All girls who plan on trying out need to stop by and try shoes on. No money will be due at that time.
There will also be an Open Gym on Monday, September 30th from 3:30 to 4:30 in Anders Gym.
