Dear DES Families,
October is upon us and is a busy time at DES. We will focus on Kindness as part of our positive behavior program and discuss ways to spread kindness everywhere like Kind Kiera. We will hold our annual Unity Day on Oct. 23. We ask everyone to wear orange on this day to show we are United, like a team, against bullying!
During this month we will provide 1st quarter report cards during the parent teacher conferences. They are scheduled by the teachers for Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 5-7:30
and Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 3:30 -6:00. Watch for those meeting notes and schedules from your teachers soon. Also we hold an early dismissal on Oct. 31 for school improvement. This is our costume parade to the nursing homes as well. As you plan for the costume parade please be mindful of our policies in creating those costumes:
No bloody or violent costumes
No excessive makeup
No play weapons
No masks/costumes creating a safety risk for walking in the parade
