Dear DES Families,
With Valentine’s Day come the childhood excitement of giving and getting special notes and messages. Please contact your child’s teacher if you are in need of a class list of first names for the Valentines. Your child will make a Valentine bag during art class, so you do not need to make one for school. We can’t wait to see the creative designs our art program creates for students to use at the parties. If you are in need of Valentines, please contact our office.
Our One School, One Book DES book club reveal title is set for Tuesday, Feb. 4. Every student and adult will receive a copy of the selected book introducing our program and the book. Along with the book, your student will receive a reading schedule. Please read about 15 minutes each night, so we suggest using it as your bedtime story during the program. No worries if you miss a day or two, we will also read the selection in class the following day. We’re so excited to get started in our One School, One Book program! Please help us reach our goal to build a Community of Readers at our school.
