For the month of January, the homerooms that are in the lead for best attendance are Mrs. Krone, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Casey and Mr. Crain. The grade level in the lead is 5th grade.
Student Council is sponsoring a dodgeball tournament that begins Monday, February 3. The sign-up deadline is Friday, January 31 at 3:00 for 5th and 6th grade and February 14 for 7th and 8th grade. Due to the boys basketball team going to regionals, the 7th and 8th grade will play later. All forms need to be turned in to Mrs. Mathis. Forms can be picked up outside Mrs. Mathis’ door or in the office. The cost is a $1.00 per person.
Attention 7th and 8th graders: The Builder’s Club will be hosting the Raining Hearts Dance tonight from 6-7:30 for DMS 7th and 8th graders. The cost is $6 and concessions will be sold.
DMS National Jr. Honor Society applications are now available in the office. NJHS is open to 7th and 8th grades. See Mr. Cornett if you have any questions.
The Builder's Club invites you to start thinking NOW about VALENTINE'S DAY!! Starting on Tuesday, you can order a fresh carnation flower for one of your friends or sweeties. The cost will be $1 each, half dozen for $5 or a DOZEN for $10. These will be delivered on Valentine's Day. All profits will be donated to Tanya Jacobs, the mother of 8th grader, Luke Lively, who recently experienced a brain aneurysm. In other efforts to raise more money, Mrs. Ritter has brought in a very soft buffalo plaid DMS Warrior blanket that will be on display next week and be raffled off. Raffle tickets can be purchased on your lunch hour or from any Builder's Club member or Student Council member. Tickets are $1 each or 7 for $5.
