Dear DES Families,
The total is in and our Kids Heart Challenge campaign is a NEW DES RECORD at $5098. That is correct, $5098 for the American Heart Association and helping our community by being a Heart Hero! Thank you to all who participated in this worthy endeavor and watch future posts of the top student donors!
As a reminder Friday, March 13 is an early dismissal at 11 AM for school improvement. Also Friday is the end of the quarter, with report cards going home on March 20th. Please reach out to your teacher if you have questions or concerns about your child’s progress.
Finally, we have a busy finish to the month of March. Beginning the week of Mar. 23, the BOGO Scholastic Book Fair will be at our school. I just read research that stated elementary students who read early and more often become more proficient readers, that includes reading at home. Thanks to the dedication of our PTO to continue bring this opportunity for our students. If you are unable to provide funds for your child to get a new book, please contact my office for support. I would love to see every student with a new book next week!

Order packets for spring pictures went home this week. Fill yours out and get them sent back by Friday March 20th.

Our lost and found has grown quite large again! Please encourage your child to check for anything they are missing. Parents are also welcome to stop by and look.
