Dear Du Quoin CUSD #300 Families,
We hope this message finds you well! Please take note of a few important upcoming dates and events:
📅 School will not be in session on Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21 in observance of the holiday weekend. We hope your family enjoys this time together!
👶🧒 Kindergarten Screening will be held on Tuesday, April 22 . If you have/know of a child who will be 5-years-old by September 1, please contact the elementary office to schedule an appointment. Current Kindergarten students do not attend school on Tuesday, April 22.
As part of the screening day, the Du Quoin Lion’s Club will be offering free eye exams for any child up to 6 years old between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. This a wonderful service and we need your help to get this to families who would benefit from the opportunity. Students entering PreK can use this eye check for registration in the program. Special thanks to the Lions for their continued support of our students and families!
📘 The 2025-2026 school calendar has been approved, with the first day of school set for Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
📋 As part of our Community Schools Grant efforts, we are seeking your input to help guide our goal writing. We would greatly appreciate your time in completing one of the following surveys:
