The Illinois Science Assessment scores from 2016 revealed that 53.8% of our students were proficient compared to 40.8% in Illinois. In fact, the percentage was the highest among all schools in the River-to-River Conference! Great job by the Class of 2018!

With the help of faculty/staff/students, community members, Country Financial Services, the Du Quoin Health Center, Marshall Browning Hospital, and Winter Haven Photography we have brought in over $600 for the NothingButNets organization. Great job! Thanks to Mrs. Geiger for organizing this effort as a Democracy School project.

We thank the Lady Indians basketball team for their hard work, dedication and sportsmanship all season long and wish good luck to Meryn Gross and Grace Haney as they advance in the 3-point shooting competition.

The annual National Honor Society blood drive collected over 100 pints of blood for the American Red Cross! Another year over the century mark! Thanks to all who volunteered!

Mr. Zach Jones took two team of students to compete in TeamQuest at Kaskaskia College. The team of Howard Clark, Madeleine Halstead, Josh Hawkins, and Olivia Whitley finished 3rd and qualified for the regional level!

Four DHS students returned from the WYSE competition with medals: Delainey File (English), Emily Hamburger (Math), Paxton Higgerson (Computer Science), and Nathan Manning (Physics). Paxton and Nathan qualified to advance to the sectional competition!

Through FFA, Ms. Ann Ochs took two teams of students to compete in Parliamentary Procedure at SIU. Toby Hottes received 1st Place JV Chair, Nick Saunders was 1st Place JV Secretary & 2nd Place Varsity Secretary, and Tyler Melvin was 2nd Place JV Floor Member! Nice work!
