DISTRICT #300 EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION ANNOUNCEMENT:
PULLIS FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED
The District #300 Educational Foundation is proud to announce this year’s Pullis Family Scholarship has been awarded to past Du Quoin High School graduate Alex Zimmerman. As a recipient of this scholarship Alex will be presented an award of $2,000 to continue his college education for the 2022-23 academic year.
Alex is the son of Dr. Richard and Michelle Zimmerman of Du Quoin and will be attending McKendree University in Lebanon for his junior year where he will join the Teacher Education Program. Alex recently completed his sophomore year at Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, Illinois.
Formerly known as the Rosemary Pullis Scholarship, this award as part of the District #300 Educational Foundation scholarship program has amounted to thousands of dollars being provided to past Du Quoin High School graduates since its inception. The criteria for the scholarship is the applicant must be a graduate of Du Quoin High School, a sophomore or junior in college and major in one of the following areas: Education, Social Work, Nursing, Pre-Med, or any profession that seeks to help others.
