Cayden Rector, Kayla Thomas and Ashtyn Weeks.
It was not an easy choice as all of the candidates were nominated for outstanding reasons, but our January
Student of the Month is Hannah Giese. Don’t forget to stop by and claim your prize.
The deadline for senior pictures is quickly approaching. Email up to 4 photos, one of which must be vertical.
These photos are used for the yearbook, senior video, and shared with the local newspaper. Email your photos
to: dhspublications@duquoinschools.org by Friday, Feb. 17.
If no photos are submitted, the photo taken by Iconik Studio will be used.
Senior baby picture ads are available for purchase on www.balfour.com. After creating an account, students or
parents submit their childhood photos and senior messages. If you need assistance, contact Mrs. Dunavan at
rdunavan@duquoinschools.org.
Today's Educators Rising Week Teacher spotlight goes to Mr. Vercellino. One of our future educators had this
to say about Mr. Vercellino....
Mr. Vercellino is a teacher that has inspired me because of how nice he is to me and how much we get
along. He makes me feel like I am talking to a friend, not someone that thinks of themselves as being
better than the students and that is the kind of teacher that I want to be.
Thank you Mr. Vercellino for inspiring our future teachers at DHS
Junior and Senior Girls: You are invited to a new event called Girls Tip. Topics for the Girls Tip events will
explore body image challenges, "I have to get all A's", complexities of female relationships, and opportunities
to learn from female leaders in our community. It's all about unlocking leadership potential! Come join Mrs.
Rea Thursday, Feb. 16 in the library computer lab during your lunch hour (bring you lunch to eat while we
meet) and learn more about the Girls Tip events.
FBLA members need to check Google Classroom - Especially those planning to attend the State Conference.
FCA is meeting tomorrow during both lunch hours. Please sign up so we know how much pizza and soda to
have on hand. Cost for food is $5. See Coach File or Coach Boyett with any questions.
Educators Rising is meeting tomorrow morning at 7:44 in Mr. File's room.
Tomorrow is the last day to dress up to celebrate FBLA and Educators Rising week. The theme is Frat Friday.
Wear your FBLA or Educators Rising club shirts or dress in DQ colors!
