8th Grade Promotion
DMS 8th Grade Parents and Students:
I hope you are all enjoying your summer. I wanted to pass along some important information regarding our 8th grade promotion. We are finalizing details of our ceremony in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Illinois State Board of Education and Illinois Department of Public Health. Our ceremony is set for Friday, July 24th, at 6:00pm. The ceremony will be held at our High School football field. Due to the precautions necessary because of COVID-19, the ceremony will look very different than it has in the past. In preparation for the ceremony, we will have a drive through T-shirt and DVD pickup on Monday, July 13th. Every 8th grader that is participating in the ceremony will wear an 8th grade t-shirt that was designed specifically for this ceremony. You can pick this t-shirt up on the 13th between the hours of 10am-1pm and 3pm-6pm in front of DuQuoin Middle School. Please follow the circle drive in front of the school. 8th grade parent volunteers will be there to give you your t-shirt and a copy of the promotion DVD they made for every 8th grader. Every 8th grader must wear this t-shirt during the ceremony.
I will send out more detailed information regarding the ceremony once we have approval on our plan. Please contact me with any questions at ahill@duquoinschools.org or 542-2646 ext. 1150.
