Good afternoon District 300 parents, guardians, and students. The Governor has officially extended the stay-at-home order and school closure through April 30. We will continue our existing plans through that date. I’ll share more as needed soon. Matthew Hickam, Supt.

Grab & Go Meals continue at our 4 locations today from 10-12. Over 1,200 meals served yesterday thanks to our awesome staff! New instructional materials can also be picked up at DES/DMS/DHS locations today! #ILSchoolsStepUp

District 300 Parents/guardians, students, staff: Per the Governor's announcement today, our school closure has been extended through April 7. We will be in touch again early next week with more info. Our food program WILL continue as scheduled. Everyone be safe this weekend!

In first 4 days of Grab & Go food for students, we have distributed over 2,000 breakfasts/lunches! We have a great kitchen staff & now help coming from faculty/staff too. For this weekend, local churches have provided food for students to take home as well. 🙏#ILSchoolsStepUp

Parents/guardians, if you haven’t discovered it yet, you can now make breakfast/lunch payments online through your TeacherEase account. Our next step will be to provide an online registration process. Stay tuned!

The Board of Education has moved the date/time of the regular March meeting to Monday, March 16, at 6 PM. The meeting will be held in the K-8 Media Center.

National School Breakfast Week continues tomorrow with another new item to try...the DQ Griddle! I like the sound of that.

We recently shared some info & a survey by e-mail about an idea for a 1-hour late start schedule to use 5-6 times next year. If you do not have an e-mail in TeacherEase and would like the info & take the survey, you can stop in the main office of your child's school. Thank you!


NATIONAL SCHOOL BREAKFAST WEEK - It's a proven fact that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The cafeteria will be celebrating National School Breakfast Week with special menus each morning for breakfast! Tomorrow (Tuesday), it's a breakfast bowl w/biscuit sticks!
